Promotion of Alternate Energy
Background
Solar Tuki Set Initially, the community is mobilized and their vision for development created along with the awareness on environment conservation (in general) and application of clean technology (in particular). The software activities are done as per the ECCA methodology, which involves local youths, school children and then - the community.

To cover the overall aspect of environment, ECCA has defined six fields of work – one of them being “Appropriate and Renewable Technology”, in which solar oven, solar drier, solar photovoltaic, improved cooking stove, bio-gas, etc. are being promoted.
Aim
  • To make positive impact on the standard of living through the integrated approach of community mobilization and technological intervention.
Major Initiatives
  • Installation of solar photovoltaic water pumping system to replace the diesel-engine water pumping system (which were not in operation because the villagers were unable to afford high operation and maintenance cost)
  • Improved Cooking Stove Programme in different parts of the country
  • Promotion of Solar lamp to replace kerosene wicked lamp
