On 8th August 2010, one day awareness program was organized on “Water Purification Techniques” at Lalit Kalyan Kendra Lower Secondary School, Bholdhoka, Lalitpur. The program was jointly organized by Environmental Camps for Conservation Awareness (ECCA-Nepal) and Lalit Kalyan Kendra Lower Secondary School. The objective of the program was to create awareness about the importance of safe drinking water and role of chlorination method to purify water.

About 60 participants attended the program. The participants were the guardians of the students studying in the school itself. They were targeted for the program because the school provides safe water to the students and wanted to assure safe water for the students at home as well.

The program provided valuable information about water purifying techniques, specially chlorination. In the program, Ms. Sushila Khadgi, program officer of ECCA-Nepal gave presentation about water facts, water borne diseases, methods of purification of water and chlorination as a best method of purification of water.

Also in the program, a drama with the theme "importance of safe drinking water and role of chlorination" was performed by the students themselves. It was the plus point for the program which made it more interesting and motivating.
