Eco friendly Haat Bazaar
Eco friendly Haat BazaarHaat Bazaar, is a general term which notifies about a weekly market organized in rural society. This market helps people to exchange the surplus agricultural products with the goods they require to survive in their daily life. Today also, Haat Bazar is still practiced in rural areas.

With a slight modification of concept of Haat Bazaar and integrating the concept of Flee Market, ECCA organized a Haat Bazaar event in its compound in the month of April 2011. The event was organized as a fundraising event for supporting "Support-A-Child" Campaign. The event was introduced as a platform where inexpensive or reusable goods were sold or bartered so as to provide an opportunity to exchange goods as per need of different customers.

Eco friendly Haat BazaarWith the success of first Haat Bazaar, ECCA organized second series of Haat Bazaar to raise additional funds for supporting "Support-A-Child Campaign". The concept was slightly modified in this event with banning the use of plastic bags during the program so as to promote the information regarding the consequences being produced due to plastic.

This event named as "Plastic Free Haat Bazaar" was organized at the premises of Dhanwantari Barahi Temple, Jwagal, near UN Park Gate on 12th November 2011. The event was organized in coordination with Laliptur Sub-Metropolitan City and Barahi Tole Development Committee with support of local youth group. Started around 11:00 AM in the morning and ended the program at around 5:00 pm in the evening, the event was organized as a mini fun feast. Many exciting features like; reusable goods stall, food stalls, games, music on demand, eye check-up camp, handicraft stalls, book stalls, cultural program by students etc added fun in the event. The information stall of Dhanwantari Barahi Temple and information about scholarship students added an additional charm to know about the community as well as people to support for the scholarship campaign.

Eco friendly Haat BazaarParticipation of above 1000 peoples in the event made the event successful in terms of people's visit in the event. The event was also successful to gather enough funds for providing support for some students towards their need of stationary materials, school dress, tuition fees and text books. This event also could be set as a milestone towards generating funds for the campaign.

We would like to acknowledge the participation and effort made by all the people towards making this event successful. Thanks You.
