Friends of ECCA
Need
Many organizations and individuals who share the common concern of ECCA have expressed their desire to support ECCA with whatsoever ways they can. Considering that it need not be only large scale donor agencies who could help ECCA, a forum "FRIENDS OF ECCA" has been started to gather well wishers from all sectors of the society. They do not fall under the membership mandate directly. They will not have any voting rights in ECCA and will not have to pay annual fees.
Who could be involved
Any organization or individual from any part of the world who desires to help ECCA.
Criteria
1. Those who provide financial contribution to any of the following funds:


  • Fund for education activities : for training camps / workshops for youths and children, development of resource materials, etc.
  • Fund for small-scale community based projects : after the implementation of conservation education / awareness activities, the nature clubs / schools / community requests support to implement activities which puts into practice what they have learnt
  • Fund for environmental research : for development of appropriate / alternate technologies which helps to reduce pressure on the local natural resources
  • Fund for ECCA human resource development : training of the staffs and counselors is carried out continuously so as to improve the quality of the programmes
  • Fund for ECCA infrastructure development : at present, the focus is on the construction of ECCA Head Office building in Kathmandu
  • Fund for overhead expenses of ECCA : to cover office expenses and the basic salary of the core staffs
  • Fund for scholarship for school students
  • Others : depending upon the specific interest of the person / institution who provide the contribution

2. Those who provide technical support (to be decided by the Executive Committee)


Obligation Of ECCA
  • Provide update (new entries) of "FRIENDS OF ECCA" in the "ECO-KHABAR" (ECCA newsletter)
  • In Shrawan (August) issue of "ECO-KHABAR" provide complete list of all "FRIENDS OF ECCA" for the past fiscal year
  • Provide a copy of "ECO-KHABAR" regularly (could be via e-mail)
  • Guarantee that the donation provided will be spent for the purpose for which it was provided
  • Provide update on the usage of the above funds at the end of each fiscal year

The procedure of sending your financial contribution could be one of the following:

  1. Coming to ECCA Office,Jwagal, Kupondole, Kathmandu and depositing the amount
  2. Depositing the donated amount in the ECCA bank account (Nabil Bank, Pulchowk, Kathmandu, Account no. 0210017505825) and informing the ECCA Office (via email / fax / telephone)
  3. Sending the bank draft/account payee cheque (drawn in the name of ECCA) to ECCA Office, Kathmandu
