Environmental Camps for Conservation Awareness (ECCA) has been a leading organization in the sector of social mobilization and community development. ECCA wins World Bank Nepal Development Marketplace 2008 (country level) on June 24, 2008.
The project "Simple alternative water disinfection program" is focused towards producing chlorine solution locally from concentrated common salt solution (through electrolysis process). The chlorinator device can be powered by solar panel or from
utility grid. For an average water quality, 1 litre of concentrate salt
solution produces 13 litres of chlorine solution which, in turn, treats 52,000 litres
of water. The produced chlorine will then be used to treat water for
drinking purpose.
Human Value-based Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Education (HVWSHE)
In collaboration with UN-HABITAT Water for Asian Cities Programme, “Human Value-based Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Education (HVWSHE)” has been launched from December 2007.

Children School Rights And Environment Conservation Follow Up Program has been launched from February 2006 in partnership with Taksvarkki ry (Finland) with the aim of improving the school environment and thereby creating social harmonization.

ECCA and Penn State University, USA are jointly working to share the positive changes in the environment sector (done by nature clubs) among the community / student clubs in India, Bhutan and Nepal through the use of video camera. This is a good opportunity to expose and share the nature club activities internationally and to replicate the success activities easily.
Solar Tuki Project
The SOLAR TUKI proposal submitted by ECCA in partnership with Center for Renewable Energy, was one of the 31 winners in the Global Development Marketplace 2005 competition held by World Bank, Washington DC. 2,700 proposals from 136 countries had participated in the competition. read more»

ECCA constructed its office building - named as 'Wise-use House' - in Jwagol, Kopundol and its office was shifted there on March 14, 2004. It is envisaged to house several link-minded NGOs in this building and adjacent buildings and develop a new concept in NGO networking.
